NestQuest awarded $5000 grant by Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation

The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation has supported more than 1,000 organizations since it was founded in 1965, NestQuest is delighted to announce that we are now included within that exclusive group!

The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Foundation has brought meaningful change to communities and individuals in Houston in many ways; NestQuest will be sure to continue this tradition as a result of this generous contribution to our cause. NestQuest are truly grateful for this kind contribution.

In September 2020 NestQuest received a $5000 grant from the Herzstein Foundation. These funds support NestQuest’s ongoing Housing and Education Stability program. NestQuest ensures that families who receive Housing Choice Vouchers are able to choose where they live. It enables families to live where their children can study at exceptional schools. Many students in voucher households have to relocate to different schools whilst their families vouchers adjust. NestQuest ensures students can enroll at high ranking public schools and remain in place until they graduate.

NestQuest has seen huge spikes in demand for its services within Houston as a result of Covid-19; these funds enable our program to provide high level assistance to families on our program. This includes rent relief, utility assistance, food packages, feminine hygiene products and other necessities. Too many families in Houston are burdened by rent. A Texas Women’s Foundation report shows 80% of female-led households in Texas are burdened by rent. This grant enables NestQuest to relieve this burden for many single parent families in Houston.

If you or someone you know needs assistance using a Housing Choice Voucher, apply here or contact our team for more information.
